For their interactive DIFFA BY DESIGN installation–HOPE IS–HDR partnered with Giles Miller Studio to create a space with a sculptural element that reflected DIFFA’s ongoing and expanding mission. Giles Miller, along with Mohammed Ayoub and Brooke Horan of HDR discuss the inspiration behind the design and the message it relays. “In the fight against HIV/AIDS, we find ourselves at the fulcrum of eradicating a disease that has touched all facets of life. And though this is cause for celebration, we find ourselves tested again with the emergence of COVID. While many of us have found ways to overcome our adversities, others are still struggling to cope. We look for ways to support one another, so that feeling of being alone is not as isolating. We press on, with a glimmer of HOPE, each one of us with our own specific understanding of what that means.”
